Privacy Policy

GetSite (“we”, “us”) is a web design and development service based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through getsite.ca, why we collect it, and how we handle it, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you request a quote, start a live chat, or contact us, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, business name and type, and details about your project. If you opt in to our newsletter, we keep your email address for that purpose.

Like most websites, we also use Google advertising tags to measure how our ads perform. These set cookies and collect standard usage data (pages visited, device type, approximate location). You can opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

The site also keeps its own visitor statistics: pages viewed, time on page, clicks on the quote and chat buttons, device and browser type, and the approximate location derived from your network address. Your IP address is hashed before it is stored and is never kept in readable form. A random identifier is saved in your browser so return visits can be recognized; if you click Deny on the cookie notice, that identifier is discarded when you close the tab.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your inquiry, prepare your quote, deliver and support your website, send emails you have asked for, and measure our own advertising. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Where it lives

Form submissions and chat messages are stored securely with our database provider (Supabase). Emails we send are delivered through our email provider (Resend). New inquiries also generate an internal notification to our team. These providers process data on our behalf and may store it outside Canada.

Email and unsubscribing

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and we keep your address on a suppression list so you are not contacted again. Transactional emails about an active project are not affected.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@getsite.ca and we will respond within 30 days.
